The treasury minister of El Salvador, Alejandro Zelaya, has informed about the future of the issuance of the bitcoin bonds and the possibility of these being issued by La Geo, the national geothermal power company. Zelaya also referred to the day of issuance of these instruments, hinting at a possible delay that would see the bonds go out to the market in May or even July.
El Salvador Might Issue Bitcoin Bonds Through La Geo
The treasury minister of El Salvador, Alejandro Zelaya, gave his take on the issuance of the bitcoin bonds and how these might be linked to La Geo, the national geothermal power company. In an interview offered to a local television program, Zelaya declarar that they will be issuing the bitcoin bonds through La Geo, which will have the responsibility of backing the instrument.
No obstant això, Zelaya va tranquil·litzar els futurs inversors, explicant que fins i tot sota aquest model, l'estat seria responsable de l'emissió de bons, donant garanties als titulars de bons. Sobre això, Zelaya va declarar:

El bitcoin bonds were proposed by the president of the country, Nayib Bukele, as a means of getting financing for constructing Bitcoin ciutat, a city to be powered by geothermal energy. The first issuance of the bonds would be backed by bitcoin, offering 6.5%.
Data d'emissió encara no decidida
Zelaya també s'ha referit a la data i hora exactes en què s'emetran aquests bons, Zelaya ha afirmat que, segons el seu punt de vista, aquests bons podrien sortir al mercat durant els mesos de març i abril. No obstant això, ha assenyalat que la situació no és favorable per a aquest termini de moment. També va esmentar que maig i juny també podrien oferir bones condicions per a l'emissió de bons.
A més, el ministre va afirmar que després del setembre hi ha poques oportunitats perquè l'emissió tingui un gran impacte. Zelaya també va informar que esperen ser subscrits en excés i va esmentar 1.5 milions de dòlars com la xifra que el govern espera aconseguir amb aquesta iniciativa.
El país ha estat preparació el seu marc legal per al llançament d'aquests bons des del gener, quan es van redactar 20 lletres per donar suport a la seva emissió.
