Resum de l'esdeveniment de contagi que va portar al mercat de l'ós

Are we in a bear market? Opinions vary, but it certainly feels like one. Markets across the board and across the world are in the red, and the bitcoin and crypto ones are no exception. If you’ve been paying attention, you know how all of this happened, but a refresher course wouldn’t hurt. Using ARK Invest’s latest Bitcoin Monthly report as a guide, let’s go through the tragic sequence of events and evaluate the bitcoin market as it stands.

Segons ARK, el camí cap al mercat baixista va ser així: 

"A partir de l'enfonsament de Terra a principis de maig, el contagi es va estendre als principals prestadors de criptomonedes, com Blockfi, Celsius, Babel, Voyager, CoinFlex, contribuint a la insolvència de l'anteriorment molt respectat fons de cobertura, Three Arrows Capital (3AC). Des del col·lapse de Terra, la capitalització total del mercat criptogràfic ha baixat aproximadament 640 milions de dòlars".

Nevertheless, there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel. “Promisingly, however, recent fallout (Babel, Voyager, CoinFlex, Finblox) appears lower in magnitude compared to Terra, Celsius, and 3AC.” That doesn’t mean the end of the bear market is near, nor that capitulation is already over. Especially if the Mt. Gox victims receive the rumored 150K BTC.

First, let’s follow ARK as they analyze two of the main players in this drama. Then, let’s check the stats of the bitcoin market to see if we can find signs and clues that point out to the end of the capitulation stage. SPOILER ALERT: The jury is still out on that one. Some signs point to an early end, others to further downside. Aren’t bear markets fun?

Quan Terra va caure, la terra va tremolar. La Guàrdia de la Fundació Luna va vendre gairebé tota la seva reserva de 80K BTC intentant defensar la vinculació UST al dòlar. Aquest esdeveniment podria haver estat el catalitzador del mercat baixista. El pitjor encara estava per arribar, però. Diverses institucions antigament respectades estaven molt exposades a Terra a través del seu protocol Anchor, i el col·lapse de l'UST les va enviar a totes en una espiral de mort encara en curs. 

According to ARK, “Celsius froze withdrawals on June 12th in response to significant outflows. Its DeFi debt outstanding is $631 million but the magnitude of its nonDeFi exposure is unclear.” There was still hope for its clients, as the company paid several loans. However, Celsius filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, leaving them all high and dry.

El director comercial de Choise.com, Andrey Diyakonov, va analitzar la situació de NewsBTC:

"Per posar les coses en perspectiva, hem de capgirar-ho i preguntar-nos, quina part de l'acció recent dels preus als mercats ha estat influenciada o creada directament per les accions de Celsius? El que passa sempre arriba. És molt més irònic tenint en compte aquells informes creïbles que les retirades de Celsius estaven entre les que van enviar UST i Terra a la posició del conill per esbrinar on és el fons".

Aleshores, hi va haver "Three Arrows Capital (3AC), un fons de cobertura criptogràfic molt apreciat que, segons es diu, gestiona 18 milions de dòlars en el seu punt àlgid, sembla estar insolvent després d'haver agafat massa palanquejament". Això és segons ARK, que també diu: "Aparentment, 3AC va agafar un excés de palanquejament per intentar recuperar les pèrdues. Els seus creditors incloïen actors importants de la indústria com Genesis, BlockFi, Voyager i FTX".

Totes aquestes empreses, excepte FTX, semblen estar comptant enrere fins a l'extinció. 

Is the bottom in? Opinions vary. In a section titled “Market Contagion Sets Bitcoin Into Capitulation,” ARK analyzes all of the indicators and can’t reach a final conclusion. The numbers are extremely interesting, though.

Això "suggereix condicions extremadament sobrevendes", que és un gran senyal. Malgrat això…

La "condició no s'ha complert", però està a prop. Molt a prop.

Miners who didn’t practice proper risk management have been selling at the present low levels. Miners who know what they’re doing will keep holding until we come out of the bear market. The question is, how many companies are in the first group and haven’t sold just yet? 

Històricament, això suggereix que la capitulació s'ha acabat. O és?

Si anem a arribar al 25%, això vol dir que encara queda molt camí per recórrer.

El mercat baixista tot just comença o està a punt d'acabar? Les dades no són clares. Però la capitulació sembla que s'acosta al seu final, que seria el primer pas en la bona direcció.
