Central African Republic (CAR) president Faustin-Archange Touadera announced recently that cryptocurrencies are an alternative to cash. Bitcoiners, however, insist the top cryptocurrency is the only solution to the CAR’s money problems.

Centrālāfrikas Republikas prezidents Faustins-Archange Touadera ir paziņojis, ka kriptovalūtas ir alternatīva fiat skaidrai naudai. Touadera arī apgalvoja, ka CAR "formālā ekonomika vairs nav izvēles iespēja".
Saskaņā ar Zawya ziņot, Touadera jaunākās piezīmes par šifrēšanu tika izteiktas tieši tad, kad viņa valsts laida klajā monētu Sango — kriptovalūtu, kas, pēc ierēdņu domām, tiks izmantota, lai piekļūtu CĀR dabas resursiem.
"Sango monēta būs Centrālāfrikas Republikas jaunās paaudzes valūta," citēts prezidents Touadera.
Meanwhile, in one of his tweets before launching the so-called Sango Crypto Hub initiative, Touadera insisted that digital gold (bitcoin) will serve as an “engine for our civilization” in the future in the same way gold has done in the past.
